What is fever?

A fever is an increase in the body’s temperature.

A temperature of 100°F or higher.

Signs of fever

  • Rise in body temperature –Body temperature of 100° F or higher is considered fever.
  • Dehydration - High body temperature can contribute to dehydration which is indicated by increased thirst and dark-colored urine.
  • Sweating
  • Shivering
  • Loss of appetite
  • Head ache or muscle ache
  • Reduced activity level
